Indigenous Mentorship

Qualified Indigenous mentors with Industry experience are assigned to sites where ECB has Indigenous employees, as requested. Indigenous mentors provide support for specific industry skills, ongoing LLND support, and general social skills and confidence-building to enhance trainee participation in the workplace.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital skills (LLND)

ECB has considerable experience in the application of LLND skills. Over the last seven years they have developed a response to support all trainees, especially Indigenous recruits. Mentors and/or trainers closely observe and assess recruits, for LLND levels and other barriers the entry-level trainees may face. This method allows literacy support to be delivered prior to course commencement with further support integrated into the specific course material as required.

Skill Mentorship

ECB leads mentoring support, addressing cultural diversity and the varying skill levels and competence of all employees. This mentoring plays a key role in raising employee self-esteem and confidence, resulting in increased employee retention rates, career mobility, and a more productive and progressive worksite – for both the individual and their employers.

Pre-Qualifying courses

ECB promotes entry-level courses as pathways to employment for those from disadvantaged groups. The courses run from three to six weeks and introduces new recruits to a variety of positions and types of work. They also offer access to LLND and other critical support. Recruits are assessed, undertake all necessary preliminary tickets, and are then rotated through partnered companies and positions to allow them to make a more suitable, informed career choice.
